Rough Storyboard

These are some really quick storyboards just so we can have a more clear idea of what we are going to film and what shot we are going to use. Not all the shot drawn will be used and we might change some/all of the shots as we film but it is just to lead us through our project.
___________________________________________________________

Our first shot would be of the main character waking up on a park bench. We have chosen to use a long shot here so that the audience can see the surroundings and situations she is in. She has just woken up from a rough night. She is wearing jeans a hoodie she seems cold and scared.

_____________________________________________________________

In our second shot we have a establishing shot to show the audience the scenario the main character is in. She looks around to where she is and that's when the audience can see that she is in a park.
_____________________________________________________________

Here we have used a long  shot to allow the audience to see that the character is moving around. In this scene you be able to see that she is moving around and can see her expression of her faced which will seem scared and sad.

_______________________________________________________________

We also used another long shot so we can tell on that what the main character is doing. In this scene she is standing up looking at her watch to see what time it is. She then looks around at the people around that area.

_______________________________________________________________

This mid shot is of the main character but it will also capture some the the events going on behind her. In this scene she has seen what she thinks is a suspicious character but really is just walking their dog, but she thinks the character is dangerous and after her.

_________________________________________________________

This would be another long shot to allow the audience to see what is happening and to view the surroundings. In this scene the audience can see that she has started to run because she is scared of the suspicious character with the dog.

________________________________________________________

This is a shot of the main character falling down after running too fast away form the suspicious character and looking at the house we have chosen that she will brake into, we have used  a long shot because it allows the audience to see all this.

_________________________________________________________

Here is a scene when the main character is knocking on the door that has been chosen and we have chosen a long shot so that the audience can see her knocking but also see that the house looks empty. and that no one is home which is why she then decides to brake in.

__________________________________________________________
We have decided to use a mid shot zooming on to a close up on a window in front of the house to show the audience that she is about t brake in through the window tat has been left open.
_____________________________________________________________
A close up has been used here to show that audience how she is struggling to brake in to the house.
_______________________________________________________________
We are going to use a variates of shot in this scene but most will be Long and mid shot so that the audience can take p information of the kind on people that live in that house whilst she is panicking and walking around she is always looking back.

______________________________________________________________
A long shot is used in this scene where she hears some one at the door trying to open the front door by twisting the key. We will then do a close up of the movement of the lock and door handle to add a dramatic suspense.
________________________________________________________________
A close up is going to be used so that the audience can see what the main character is doing when she panics and pick up a knife from the kitchen.
_________________________________________________________________
We are planing to use a long shot so that the audience can see where tat she is looking for a place to hid  and that she then choses to hide behind the door.

_________________________________________________________________
A close up here to show the audience just how dangerous the weapon she has chosen is to add suspense to the following scene.
_________________________________________________________________
The last shot will be of the main characters face and it will zoom in from a long shot to a close up. In his scene the audience will hear the footsteps of the character coming into the house and her reaction.

6 Locations

These are the locationa we are considering as a setting for our main task ...
1. Shotover Woods --- We were originally going to do our opening scene in a wooded area and we thought that Shotover would be the perfect place for the opening sequence.

2. South Park Park--- We chose south park because we thought that it would create a spooky effect on where the wind creaks and moves the swings and roundabout, but decided not to go through with because it is too public.

3. Temple Cowley Car Park
4. Klodianas House--- We thought we could use Klodiana house and have the main character waking up at a park near by but having her break into the house she falls in front of.

5. Rosaline Attic --- We thought that the attic would be a good idea in where the main character can wake up but then we couldn't think of how the she will get out start to run away from the mysterious person who is following her.

6. Cheney school Corridor--- We though we could use a school site so that our target audience can relate to an everyday situation and she can leave the school and that would be where she is followed but then we though that it would be hard to film one character at the end of the day when every other student is leaving.

Film Pitch and Feedback

After facing her worst nightmare, 18 year old Anna Smith is convinced she is being followed, little does she know  the game is within herself.

Feedback Transcript :

Rose: How will this film appear to your target audience?

Klodiana: Our film has got good connections with our target audience because we have decided to aim it at young females and as being young females like our selves we know how to connect with them.

Rose: What type of audience will you have for this film?

Klodiana: Girls aged 16- 24 years of age, basically young adults

Rose: What sub genre is this film and how will your film fit this sub genre?

Klodiana: Our sub genre is Psychological Horror and our film fits our sub genre because it shows the mental side of our character. We have studied carefully the conventions used in Psychological horror so we are confident with presenting Psychological techniques.

We also chosen to an Male audience he said that he is confused about what the last part 'the game is within herself ' he said that the film is predictable and that you can tell that the main character will die in the end, we asked if would go watch the film and his reply was no was it is too predictable.
He suggest that we change the last part and that we add more detail on the main character such as age, occupation etc.

We then chose another Female audience and she said that she was also confused but that it is was good confusing because it raises questions as to what might happen in the film. We asked her if she would go  watch the film and her reply was yes because we haven't given much away but enough to tempt our target audience.

This has confirmed that we have chosen our target audience

'After.Life' Trailer HD

Sub Genre Parody

The purpose of our sub genre parody task sequence is to learn about and explore psychological horror through filming.
In psychological horror most of these camera shots are used eg birds eye shot, extreme close up, match on match action,180 degree rule and a series of different editing formats. The effect of this is to show the characters views and feelings through different camera angles.

Some other conventions we used to show psychological are...
  • someone sat in a hospital/hospital bed- this shows that there is a sick person
  • someone playing mind games with the sick person-this is used to show that the person is being played mind games
  • the narrative speech through the sequence- this is used in this sub genre to give a feel of what the film is about
  • not showing a full shot of the evil persons face - this helps to create mystery

During the process of creating this parody I have learned how to make a short sequence humorous and how to re-create a short scene. I have also learned more about psychological horror so when I go on to do my main task, I will be more confident in creating and putting the main ideas across through the conventions of sub genre.

Target Audience

For our main task we have chosen our target audience would be young adults from ages to 16  to 24 years of age. The reason for this is because of the sub genre in which we decided to base our main task on. To accompany this age range we have also decided that our product will be aimed at mostly towards females because the main character is a female who are either single or in a relationship. These people would preferable have subtle or no jobs due to them still being full time students and because of this, and their age range, they will not have children. The area in which our target would be mostly set towards is in metropolitan towns such as London. Finally, the things that our audience would usually spend their money on would include technology, clothing and going out with friends - e.g. cinemas.

Sound

Diegetic sound- The definition of Diegetic sound is the sound within the clip, film, drama etc. that the characters can hear such as people in the background talking, phones, traffic or guns

Non Diegetic sound - The definition of Non Diegetic sound is sound that the characters in the clip, film or drama can not hear, such as soundtrack music or/and not only always but most time voice overs.

Shot

There are many different camera shots  here are a few

- Close ups = which is used for capturing a characters expression/emotion
