Horror Film Interview

Evaluation

After interviewing different people selected out of our target audience I was able to collect data to help construct our main task and with hold any mistakes and make more improvements so that we can make our main task great.

What people mostly said as an answer about what film is the scariest they mostly said Saw films.

Two men wake up at opposite sides of a dirty, disused bathroom, chained by their ankles to pipes. Between them lies a dead man loosely clutching a hand-held tape player and a handgun. Each finds a tape the perfect fit for the player in their back pocket. They play the tapes. One is threatened, the other isn't. But they have a task: One must kill the other by 6:00, or his wife and daughter will die. They find hacksaws in a toilet, and try to cut the chains, but it doesn't work. They are the two newest victims of the Jigsaw Killer. In a flashback, we learn of Amanda, a girl who falls victim to the Jigsaw Killer. On her head is a mask, which is hooked into her lower jaw. There is a timer on it. Only one key will unlock it, and that key is in the digestive tract of her cell mate who lies paralysed on the opposite side of the room. If she doesn't unlock the mask in time, her lower jaw will be ripped wide open. She survives, but her cell mate doesn't. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn of more victims, and of the nearly-successful capture of the Jigsaw Killer, who doesn't actually kill his victims. Instead, he finds ways to make them kill either themselves, or each other, and he thinks the entire 'game' out perfectly, with no other ways out. Or so it would seem.

Saw mostly has flashback and contains many scene containing blood and unpleasant situations.
Many things could scare the audience such as the the scene, setting and props the fact that there is a lot of blood and dangerous scenes but what I think scares the most is the fact that the characters know how and when it will happen if one of them doesn't die.
We would have to make sure that our main task has few of these features along side some features from other films mentioned in the clip.

What most people answered when they were asked about what there fear was there answer were like spiders, the dark heights, clowns, snakes and getting buried alive so we will have to take into consideration which one these we will choose to explore in our main task.

For our fourth question we asked what was their recent nightmare about and most peoples answered involved them getting hurt some way or another whether it was getting eating by a snake, being chased, getting buried alive or basically dying. In our main task could involve feature such as being chased or being buried alive.

In the last question which was is there anything that you don't find scary in horrors most said fake monster and blood which is something we can ignore in our main task by not adding monsters and not over doing it with the blood scenes.

Overall, the interviews has made it clear that the films they watched are what interprets their dreams and the feature presented in the films are most likely to be their worst fear, we will make sure to take into consideration everything in the clip and included features like flash backs and a chase.
